It has been a crazy few weeks at Kingston CAD Solutions. We have been stacked out with high profile projects and continue to be inundated with enquiries which is always a good thing.

But on 17th April 2016 we got a great surprise when our Twitter went crazy with people following us and saying congratulations.

Kingston CAD Solutions had been hand picked by Theo Paphitis as a winner and he had retweeted our company to his half a million followers which gained us a huge number of extra followers and some exposure on social media and gained us access to the special #SBS networking club.

Lee Scott said, “We are due to meet with Theo in the near future to pick up our certificate and be enrolled into his tightly guarded network of business experts.”

So what is Theo Paphitis small business Sunday all about?

Small Business Sunday (which is shortened to the hashtag #SBS on Twitter) is an idea created by the ex Dragons Den Star ‘Theo Paphitis’. Theo is also the Chairman of Ryman Stationery, Boux Avenue and Robert Dyas as well as a partner and joint owner of Red Letter Days experiences.

Theo is a mentor and investor of many different businesses, many of them invested in through the BBC 2 programme ‘Dragons Den’.

Each week he rewards small businesses who tweet him directly. Thousands of businesses tweet him every week with the hope to join the #SBS club, but only a certain few are handpicked. On the 17th April 2016 it was Kingston CAD Solutions.

It has been a huge boost for us online and we hope the exposure helps our business grow.

Here is an excerpt from the SBS website about why Theo is doing this and how it helps businesses like us.

THEO-LOGY

Theo says, “I admire people who have passion and energy. If you cannot bore your friends to death about your own small business then something is seriously wrong. I was struck by the number of business owners on Twitter who wanted to tell me about their new products and services. Small Business Sunday was born so that people have a specific time slot to tweet and can pitch their ‘sell’ directly to me.

All my businesses are privately owned and entrepreneurial in spirit. My stationery firm Ryman has thousands of small business customers, which is why they are now kindly sponsoring #SBS. I want to offer benefits to #SBS winners, past and present and the link with the stationery retailer allows me to do this, so thank you CEO Kypros Kyprianou and Co.

My vision is that everyone who has ever won an #SBS re-tweet from me becomes part of a friendly club. Like-minded individuals can share successes and learnings. This website will give a valuable profile to the winners chosen to date and should help those who have not yet won but want some tips on how to do so. You will find news about the latest winners plus events and activities of interest.

I know I have been lucky in business and I am keen now to spread goodwill to others, of course not forgetting that very often, you make your own luck by making use of every opportunity.”
